Daniel Busso

Researcher at FrameWorks Institute

Daniel received his EdD in Human Development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His research interests include the impact of early adversity (maltreatment, trauma and poverty) on developmental, educational and mental health outcomes in children. He is interested in using the tools of neurobiology and cognitive science to better address questions of educational practice and policy.

Doctoral Student in Occupational Science at USC

Christiana is a graduate of the Mind, Brain and Education Masters program at HGSE. She worked in the B.E.E. lab as a research assistant, and now attends the Occupational Science PhD program at USC in the Brain Creativity Institute. She is interested in embodied cognition, and the effects of movement and exercise on social and emotional cognition.

Laura Mesite is a recent graduate of the B.E.E. Lab. Her research uses educational and cognitive neuroscience methods to explore the identification and remediation of learning disabilities in school-age children, particularly English Learners and those from socioeconomically-disadvantaged backgrounds. Masters Student in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Emilia is a a masters student at the MGH Institute of Health Professions studying Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her primary focus is communication disorders in early-middle childhood. She is particularly interested in the impact of diverse language backgrounds on cognitive and linguistic development.  

Veronica  Whitford

Dr. Veronica Whitford

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Whitford obtained her Ph.D. in Cognitive-Experimental Psychology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada).  She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychology and Brain and Mind Institute at the University of Western Ontario (London, Canada). She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (under the supervision of Dr. Gigi Luk) and Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences and McGovern Institute for Brain Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (under the supervision of Dr. John Gabrieli)....
